Our office provides comprehensive eye examinations for individuals of all ages. A thorough evaluation of the eye and visual system is performed to detect any vision disorders, eye muscle problems, or ocular diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.  We fit all major brands of contact lenses, including specialty lenses for medical eye conditions such as aphakia, keratoconus, and for those patients that have had corneal surgery.

We use advanced diagnostic technology including computerized visual field testing, corneal topography,  retinal photography and OCT scanning of the eye to detect and manage ocular diseases as well as ocular manifestations of systemic diseases.  In fact, we offer FREE retinal screening photos for all patients to eliminate the need for dilation in most cases.

Dr. Pickering is experienced in managing and treating patients with cataracts, dry eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and the ophthalmic manifestations of systemic diseases. Treatment may include topical and oral prescription medications as well as nutritional recommendations.  We have specialized testing and treatments f or dry eyes and are happy to help our patients with a wide variety of current treatments.

We also provide annual preventative eye exams for diabetics and patients on high-risk medications. When additional specialty care is needed, we work with the area's leading ophthalmic surgeons and specialists. A follow-up report is provided to your primary care physician when needed for conditions such as diabetes or high-risk medications.
